Unrestricted, Blurred Line 흔들리는 경계
사회는 끊임없이 움직이고 있고 변화 또한 빠르게 일어나면서 기존의 명백했던 경계가 허물어지고 있다. 경계가 사라지고 융화가 일어나는 ‘빅블러 혁명 Big Blur Revolution’이 주목되고 있으며, 현실과 가상현실 사이의 경계와 구분마저 점점 모호해지고 있다. 그렇기에 지금 그리고 오늘, ‘경계’를 화두로 삼는다는 것은 진부한 일처럼 보인다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그것에 대해 주목하고 고민하는 이유는 누군가가 세운 기준과 한계선으로 인해 순간순간 예상치 못한 가로막힘으로 당혹감을 느끼기도 하고, 납득되지 않는 현실적인 문제들을 너무나도 자주 마주하게 되기 때문이다. 즉, ‘Unrestricted’ 사전적 의미 그대로 ‘어떠한 제한 또는 구속을 받지 않는’ 것은 현실 불가능한 이야기인 것이다.
개관전 는 경계 흔들기 또는 흐릿하게 만들기에 대한 의지이자 고민이며, 예술가와 대전테미예술창작센터가 함께 만들어가야 할 지향점을 드러낸다. 확연하게 드러나지 않지만 분명 이곳 ‘테미’에서는 이미 경계를 넘기 위한 그리고 궁극적으로는 경계가 없는 무제한의 상태를 만들기 위한 흔들기가 진행되고 있다. ‘잇다 또는 연결되다’라는 ‘테미’의 어원에서도 볼 수 있듯이 이곳 테미는 ‘잇는’ 것이 태생적으로 내재되어 있다. 이제 경계를 흔들고, 흐릿하게 만들어 결국에는 국가든, 지역이든, 장르든 또는 정치적인 모든 것을 넘어 예술가와 예술이라는 매개를 통해 서로를 ‘이어’주는 곳이 될 대전테미예술창작센터의 움직임은 이미 시작되었다. 

Unrestricted, Blurred Line
As the society keeps moving and changes occur rapidly, the existing boundaries, which have been apparent so far, are breaking down. Our attention is being focused on the Big Blur Revolution, in which boundaries disappear and convergence takes place. The line between the reality and virtual reality is gradually becoming blurred. That's why the phrase boundary or 'line' is considered a cliche these days. However, we still take notice of and ponder on the issue because we continue to come across unexpected barriers and restrictions set up by certain people, which are often confusing and incomprehensible to us. This means that the word 'unrestricted' in its strict sense refers to a condition which is impossible for us to achieve in reality. 
Our inaugural exhibition titled Unrestricted, Blurred Line indicates the will for and contemplation on shaking or blurring of boundaries and it also reveals the direction toward which artists and Artist Residency TEMI should progress together. Although it is not clearly visible yet, here at TEMI, the shaking process aimed at advancing beyond the boundary and creating the ultimate state free of any restriction is already going on. The word 'temi' means 'connecting or being connected.' Today we anticipate that Artist Residency TEMI will shake and blur the boundaries between different countries, regions, genres and political intentions, and will connect people through art and artists, which has already started.
